Law Enforcement Division
In New York State, SPCAs are given full law enforcement authority. We specialize in the animal cruelty laws which reside in the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets law, but also can, and do, enforce all laws of New York State.
Our division is made up of officers with vast law enforcement experience. We are comprised of former members of the Westchester County SPCA Law Enforcement Division, retired members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Town of Lewisboro Police, NYPD, City of Peekskill Police, New York State Courts, and the City of Yonkers Police to name a few. Our expertise in the field of animal cruelty investigations, and animal law knowledge is often called upon from outside agencies throughout New York State.
We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and serve all of Putnam County, NY. In addition to enforcing this specialized avenue of law, we are also an additional supportive aspect to the Putnam County Police community and have healthy working relationships with all local and state law enforcement.
Together, we can make our communities safer.
We urge you to help by donating any amount you are able so that we can continue to stop animal cruelty in its tracks.
